Brevard, NC, is famous for its white squirrels, which are a unique variant of the eastern gray squirrel and not albinos. The town’s population is believed to have originated from a pair of white squirrels from an overturned carnival truck in 1949. A city ordinance now protects these squirrels.
Many white squirrel-related decorations are displayed all over the town, even on a traffic signal pole and a gazebo roof.

We visited Mexico City, Mexico, in June. We will be posting a series of photos from that city.
Mexico City is the densely populated, high-altitude capital of Mexico. Home to over 22 million people, it is a ginormous metropolis that blends ancient history with modern innovation, making it one of the most unique cities in the world.
We stayed at the modern version of Mexico City at the JW Marriott in Polanco, and a renovated historic building for the Hampton Inn in the historic center, to photograph different images of this city.

We end the series of bird images from Sylvan Heights Bird Park, Neck, North Carolina. The scarlet macaw is one of the most impressive birds ever, with their vibrant feathers full of rainbow colors. It is the national bird of Honduras.
Sylvan Heights is home to some of the world’s rarest waterfowl breeding populations. In some cases, fewer than 250 individuals of these species remain in the wild, and the collaborative captive breeding programs here may be their last barrier against extinction.

Hinoki Cypress, also commonly known as a false cypress or Japanese Cypress because they do not belong to the cypress family of trees, is a renowned variety for Bonsai.

The majestic Japanese Maple is considered the king of Bonsai trees. Japanese maples are popular for bonsai due to their many benefits. Not only are Japanese maples beautiful to look at, including their unique leaf shape, but they are also relatively easy to maintain. They are drought and pest-resistant, and require minimal pruning.

Nature creates not only colorful orchids but also reveals unique designs on leaves at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in North Carolina.
The Wedding was held at the same venue as the Musical Night and within less than 24 hours, the decorations were changed to be unique from the previous night and were spectacular.
From the colorful flower walkway, to the greeting stand where the bride and groom exchange garlands before the wedding ceremony, to the wedding stage decorated with fresh flowers, is eye pleasing.
We attended in January 2023 a spectacular wedding in Hyderabad, India. There were five events for the wedding and the decorations at different venues were all unique, elegant, and colorful. The decorations at these events were at a different level, but reflected the normal festive spirit of celebrating Indian weddings.
The first event was the Welcome Party where family and friends of the groom and bride introduced themselves and had an outdoor party with live music.

The Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse, also commonly known as “Charleston Light” holds a unique title in Carolina Lighthouse lore as one of the most modern lighthouses in the country. The unique triangular and slim structure, which is broken up into two black and white color blocks, is hard to miss, and is a distinctive local landmark that hovers over the beach scene.
