Cape Barren Goose

The Cape Barren Goose, at Sylvan Heights Bird Park,  is a very large, pale grey goose with a relatively small head. Its stubby triangular bill is almost concealed by a very prominent greenish-yellow cere (skin above the bill). It has rows of large dark spots in lines across the scapulars (shoulders) and wing coverts. The legs are pink to deep red and the feet black.

Rays of Light from the Clouds

While I have a serious medical issue and will be getting treatment at Duke Hospital, I am going to post my captured images as long as I can. I am pleased to do and hope you all enjoy the beauty of the photos. Being positive and happy as life goes on!

Continuing my posting of clouds from before. An opening in dark clouds allows rays of the sun shine on an ocean

Ganesha and Kali

An interesting sculpture of Ganesha with Kali on the back at our resort in Gujarat, India.

Ganesha, also spelled Ganesh, also called Ganapati, elephant-headed Hindu god of beginnings, who is traditionally worshipped before any major enterprise. Lord Ganesha clears the obstacles and paves the way for us to move forward in life.

On the back side of Ganesha is the depiction of Kali. Alongside being the Goddess of darkness, destruction, and death, Kali is also a symbol of Mother Nature because she is believed to be timeless and formless, representing the creation of life and the universe as well.

Silhouettes – Church at Sunset

In photography, a silhouette is defined as an outline that appears dark against a light background. More specifically, it is where your subject is seen as a black shape without detail against a brighter background.

Will be posting this week images with silhouettes. Here is a church silhouette against a vivid sunset sky.
