Bourbon Barrel Brewed Beer in Lexington

The Lexington Brewing Co., saw a in Northside street,  was revived in 1999, restoring a craft beer tradition amid the rolling hills of Kentucky’s bourbon. Bourbon barrels in brewing beer became a hallmark of Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. and paved the way for other quality barrel-aged beers.

Old Morrison Building

Walking on the streets of Northside, Lexington, Kentucky, we saw buildings with pillars.

Built from 1830 to 1834, this Greek Revival-style building was designed by Gideon Shryock to serve as the main building of Transylvania University. It replaced the university’s former main building, which was destroyed by fire in 1829.  Affectionately known as Old Morrison, the building has served many purposes on the Transylvania campus; it has been an administration building, academic building, and chapel.

Visiting Northside District Lexington – Opera House

After exploring nature at Hisle Farm, we visited the northside district of Lexington, Kentucky. The Northside is a historic neighborhood immediately to the north of Lexington’s urban center and, as such, its history is intertwined with the city as a whole.

Restored to its 1887 glory, the Lexington Opera House offers something for everyone: ballet, opera, children’s productions, family shows, comedy, music, and national Broadway tours. Recognized by the National Register of Historic Places, the Lexington Opera House serves as a premiere performing arts center in the region.
