The stranded boats provide a nice foreground to the sunset at Barony Beach, Hilton Head, South Carolina
Hilton Head Island is in South Carolina. It’s known for Atlantic Ocean beaches. We will post some images captured on the beaches during our visit there in February 2026.
During the early-sunset walk on Barony Beach, we saw these boats stranded on the beach, with the bright sun behind them.
There are three man-made lakes at Chapultepec Park, Mexico City: one located in Section I, named Chapultepec Lake, and two located in Section II: Lago Mayor (Bigger Lake) and Lago Menor (Smaller Lake). You’ll see many ducks, egrets, and other birds in all of them.

Stone sculptures such as these fascinating boat holding water and a lantern are interesting to see at the Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco.


While it is usual to see sail and motor boats on the river by Southport, North Carolina, it was very unusual to spot a tug boat hauling a home on the water!



River Dee is 70 miles long and stretches through Wales and Chester. On the bank of the river is the ‘Groves’, a paved promenade complete with bandstand, cafés, restaurants and public houses. Chester’s River Dee has phenomenal wildlife and all sorts of activities from river cruises, kayaking, canoeing, nature spotting tours, stand up paddleboarding, white water rafting and boats for hire.

Teignmouth, England, is a large seaside town, fishing port and civil parish in the English county of Devon. The River Teign is an impressive 31 miles long and winds its way down from Dartmoor to the sea at Teignmouth.
At low tide, it appears below that boats are marooned in the river.
