Pyramid of the Moon

The Pyramid of the Moon (Pirámide de la Luna) is a prominent structure within the ancient city of Teotihuacan, located just outside Mexico City.  This impressive pyramid was a significant ritualistic temple, likely used for worshiping a Great Goddess associated with fertility and creation.

Peace of Chapel Reflections

The Chapel of Peace at Hart Square is at the lower end of Upper Lake. This old log church is a complete original circa 1871. It served an Episcopal congregation in the nearby community of Whitnel, North Carolina, and operated as a place of worship until around 1920.

The views of the chapel over the Upper Lake offer striking reflections on the water from various angles. The moon in the sky adds to the image.

Chester Cathedral History

Chester Cathedral (in Chester, England) began its life as a Benedictine Abbey in 1093. The site had previously been used as a place of worship during Saxon times, but the Benedictine monks were the first to build a church there in the Norman style. This Norman influence can still be seen in the north transept, the north tower and parts of the cloister. The cathedral was rebuilt from 1250 onwards in the much more dramatic Gothic style.
