Monochrome – Light and Shadows in the Workshop

The highlights and shadows in textures, which show up best when it is exposed from an angle by a light source, reveal fine details that make it a more compelling subject for monochrome images. The light from the window creates interesting shadow designs and exposes the brick wall and old rafters.

Monochrome – Light and Shadow Designs

Last week we posted images with the color red as the highlight in the photograph. This week we will post monochrome images.

Some of the best subjects for monochrome shots are those with lines and shapes, as well as interesting textures and patterns. Here is an image of the lobby of the Milwaukee Art Museum with light and shadow designs in monochrome.

Leaving the Light On

Featuring 2,200 feet of boardwalk from Coleman Boulevard to near the mouth of the creek at Charleston Harbor; Shem Creek Park in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina offers 250 feet of floating dock space, plus a commercial fishing dock. It helps that they left the light on during the day!

Lighting up the Statue of Unity

After sunset at the Statue of Unity, the laser show illuminates the 182- meter high structure and shows the journey of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his role to create India as a nation from various subcontinents. The show uses the statue as a canvas with a beautiful mixture of laser lights, sound, graphics, and storytelling. There are a total of 51 high-resolution projectors used in the show.
