An Overview of the Kentucky River

A 70 ft overlook of the Kentucky River provides a view of the scenic Kentucky River Palisades. The Kentucky River Palisades are a series of steep, scenic gorges and limestone outcroppings that stretch for approximately 100 mi along the Kentucky River in central Kentucky.

Ferry from Southport to Fort Fisher

Undoubtedly one of the best deals in town is the Southport-Fort Fisher ferry ride. Costing a mere $7 for a carload, this convenient way to get back and forth from Southport to historic Fort Fisher (in North Carolina) is not only cost-effective, it’s a fun and scenic ride.

Walkway to Lake Junaluska

The still, serene waters of Lake Junaluska, North Carolina are nestled in a scenic Smoky Mountain valley about 27 miles west of Asheville. A leisurely stroll along the Lake Junaluska Walking Trail that surrounds the calming waters offers priceless views.

We will be posting images from this area from a visit last year.

Water over the Rocks

Today the Reedy River is primarily recognized for its beautiful and scenic shoal and waterfall at Falls Park in Greenville, South Carolina. However, the Reedy River is much more than just a scenic downtown attraction. It is an important riparian system that stretches from the mountains all the way to Lake Greenwood.

Holes with a View

Being a golfer allows me to travel to different places that have scenic landscapes. While a DSLR camera is not always present, the newer phone cameras capture the spirit of the scene quite well.

We went to Mount Mitchell Golf Course that is nestled in the valley formed by Mount Mitchell and the surrounding tall ranges in northwestern North Carolina. Will be posting images from this area over the next few days. Here is a view from the clubhouse of holes one and ten with pleasing views
