Bearfootin’ Public Art Walk is a whimsical, playful public art display, with the much-loved Bearfootin’ bears of Downtown Hendersonville.
Here are three bears: one with a wolf-themed shawl, another with bright yellow designs, and the last with an abstract painting.

The Red Wolf by Richard Merrill and Chris Worley in Brevard is very lifelike. The sculpture now stands close to the courthouse gazebo and is made of over 2,000 slivers of steel to represent the wolf’s hair. There is also a steel heart inside.

Red wolves used to be common in North Carolina, but worldwide, only 300 of the species now exist. Red Wolf brothers, Eno and Ellerbe, were born in 2018 at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham and have been raised there ever since.
Located in Explore the Wild at the Museum of Life and Sciences, Durham, NC wolf habitat features two red wolves (Canis rufus), ambassadors for a critically endangered species that was once common in North Carolina.
