The barred owl, also known as the northern barred owl, striped owl or, more informally, hoot owl, is a North American large species of owl. Here is a female barred owl at Carolina Raptor Center, Huntersville, North Carolina. Females are normally larger and heavier than males.
She’s pretty!
Indeed Hien!
Poor thing – her feathers look wet and bedraggled. At least food is close!
She is okay for being captive.
I’m sure they take very good care of her. The staff at these centers are usually very kind, knowledgeable and good with animals. Btw, I dont think her feathers are wet.
The caretakers are exceptional.
Wow, magnificent.
Indeed, Amber!
Oh… she is so beautiful! How incredible!
It is, Ellen!
