Skystar Wheel
Golden Gate Park’s Ferris wheel SkyStar was installed as part of the park’s 150th anniversary celebration and claimed to be the first such Ferris wheel in the park since the 1890s. Skystar has now moved to Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco, but we were able to capture our images in August 2023. The wheel and its 36 gondolas have 1 million lights and weigh nearly half a million pounds.
