A Colorful Neighborhood

Randyland is an eccentric and colorful street corner created by Pittsburgh artist Randy Gilson. Randyland began almost 20 years ago. The area was blighted at the time, and Gilson began sprucing it up, planting hundreds of flower and vegetable gardens in vacant lots and offering his courtyard for free to anyone who wanted to use it.

A revitalization campaign like no other spruces up a North Side neighborhood, and it’s all being done by one man.
